Victorian Government launches new communities internet resource
COMMUNITIES LOG ON TO NEW INTERNET RESOURCE
Victorians can now learn how to use the World Wide Web thanks to new online
resources developed by Learningfast for the Victorian Government.
Information and Communication Technology Minister Marsha Thomson today launched
an online guide on how to use the Internet.

The Government has made available an online guide to help people learn how to
use the Internet. It shows how to search the web, set up an email account and
send and receive emails. The How to use the Internet Guide is available in
Arabic, Chinese, Croatian, English, Greek, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish,
Turkish and Vietnamese.
"The Guide is easy to use and allows people to learn at their own pace and in
their own language, whether it be at home or at a community location," Ms
Thomson said. "We've made the guide available in 11 languages because we
understand that people from non-English speaking backgrounds have had
difficulty learning how to use the Internet when most instructions are in
English."
Albert Matthews, General Manager of Learningfast said "The translation of
our content into the 11 community based languages along with the development
and hosting of the site for the Victorian Government has been the largest
project undertaken by Learningfast to date. We are delighted with the
launch of the site and the public feedback received".
