Learningfast Forms Strategic Alliance to provide Computer Skills to
Workers in the United States
Learningfast, a company of University, Australia and Accurate
Computer Services, a U.S software development firm, have formed a partnership
to provide employees with an opportunity to assess and upgrade their IT skills
through a new on-line IT Career Management program.
eCOACh will be launched in the U.S in September 2003. Targeted initially to
federal government employees, this new Career Development program will allow
individuals to test their current computer and technology management skills
against the 10 professional competencies required by the U.S. Federal
Government. eCOACh will then direct individuals to a range of available on-line
or classroom training resources, to up-grade their skills. Employees who
complete all levels of the IT Career Management system will be eligible for a
College degree.
Learningfast’s ICT Skills Benchmark program will be used to assess the
first level of required competency online---General Information Technology.
Individuals will then have the option to continue with the program to upgrade
their skills on-line.
Linda Blacanto, CEO of Accurate Computer Services and creator of the eCOACh
Career Management on-line program, said: " The ICT Skills Benchmark will be
invaluable to those individuals wanting to enter an IT career. It will provide
a convenient and cost effective means for them to reach the first rung of a
growing and high paying field: Information Technology Management".
A number of organizations will be involved in this new program, including the
United States Department of Agriculture Graduate School and George Washington
University. Individuals can take classroom training from these two major
Washington DC higher learning institutions, and be eligible for a Batchelor of
Sciences-IT Professional Management Degree upon completion of the complete
program.
